I often blog about how parking can have real impacts on people's everyday lives. And how a lack of service at a parking facility can have a negative impact on people's daily lives. A story coming out of ChronicleLive.co.uk about a UK man who was locked out of a car park illustrates this well.
According to the article, the man had parked his car the NCP car park on Newcastle’s John Dobson Street on Christmas Eve, and allegedly a sign informed patrons that the car park was open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. After taking his family on some holiday activities, he came back to a locked car park, and was unable to retrieve a car full of Christmas gifts until Boxing Day. A lack of proper signage basically ruined Christmas for this family.
Proper signage should let customers know the car park is open 24 hours -- but not in a row.
